Nepal has been officially named the host country for the qualifying tournament of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced today.
The main edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in England and Wales next year. Before that, the global qualifying tournament — which will decide the final four teams joining the main event — is set to take place in Nepal from January 12 to February 2, 2026.
Currently, eight teams have already secured direct qualification to the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup. The remaining four spots will be filled through this qualifier tournament, where ten teams will compete for their chance to play on the world stage.
This marks a significant milestone for Nepal, as it steps into the international spotlight by hosting a major ICC women’s cricket event.
