After winning the toss, India opted to field first.
Batting first, the Sri Lanka women’s team struggled to build momentum and managed to score only 128 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Captain Chamari Athapaththu top-scored with 31, while Harshitha Samarawickrama contributed 33.
For India, Vaishnavi Sharma and Sri Charani impressed with the ball, picking up two wickets each.
Chasing the modest target, the Indian women reached the winning runs in the 12th over to seal the match.
Shafali Verma led the charge with a powerful 69, supported well by Jemimah Rodrigues, who scored 26.
India lost three wickets during the chase, shared between Malki Madara, Kavya Kavindi, and Kavisha Dilhari.
