India wrapped up their three-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka XI with a six-wicket victory yesterday, ahead of their upcoming Test series in Sri Lanka.
Batting first, Sri Lanka XI, led by Sonal Dinusha, declared their first innings at 363/8. Ravindu Rasanta top-scored with 71, while Nishan Fernando made 66 and Dinusha contributed 52.
For India, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Manav Suthar picked up two wickets apiece.
India responded with 357/6 declared, with Devdutt Padikkal producing an outstanding unbeaten 142, while Ravindra Jadeja added 63.
Ramesh Mendis and Asanka Manoj claimed two wickets each for Sri Lanka XI.
Sri Lanka XI then declared their second innings at 200/6, with Nishan Fernando scoring another impressive 63, while Nipun Dhananjaya contributed 46.
India chased down the target comfortably, reaching 214/4 to secure a six-wicket victory. Yashasvi Jaiswal led the chase with 61, while Shubman Gill scored 44. Keshara Nuwanth claimed two wickets for Sri Lanka XI.
The victory gives India a positive start to their Sri Lankan tour, with the official Test series set to begin on August 15 in Galle.
