The resignation of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Shammi Silva and the Executive Committee has been officially accepted by the Minister of Sports today.
Accordingly, under the powers vested by Sections 31 and 34 of the Sports Act No. 25 of 1973, all administrative affairs of Sri Lanka Cricket have been temporarily taken over by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports with immediate effect.
This move comes as part of efforts to address ongoing issues within Sri Lanka Cricket and to implement structural reforms.
A special committee is expected to be appointed soon to oversee the process and introduce necessary changes.
