Sri Lanka Cricket has announced a 16-member squad for the first Test of the upcoming series against India, with Dhananjaya de Silva retained as captain and Kamindu Mendis named vice-captain.
The major talking point is the return of wicketkeeper-batter Niroshan Dickwella, who has been recalled to the Test squad after three years.
Several players who were not included in Sri Lanka’s recent West Indies squad have also earned call-ups, including Lahiru Udara, Keshara Nuwanth and Dilshan Madushanka.

The first Test of the series is scheduled to begin on August 15 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
