Sri Lanka Women’s cricket team registered their first win of the ongoing Women’s Tri-Nation ODI Series with a convincing 5-wicket victory over South Africa, in the third match of the tournament played today at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Batting first, South Africa managed to post 235 for 9 in their 50 overs. Anneke Bosch top-scored with 61 runs, while Sri Lanka’s bowling unit, led by Malshi Madara (4 wickets) and Dewmi Vihanga (3 wickets), kept the visitors in check with disciplined spells.
In reply, Sri Lanka chased down the target with ease, reaching 237 for 5 in 46.3 overs. Harshitha Samarawickrama anchored the innings with a composed 77, well-supported by Kavisha Dilhari’s fluent 61. Hasini Perera also chipped in with 42 valuable runs at the top.
This win marks Sri Lanka’s first in the series, boosting their morale and standings as the tournament progresses.
