The Sri Lanka Women’s Kabaddi Team secured a silver medal in the women’s kabaddi event at the Asian Beach Games 2026 in Sanya.
This marks Sri Lanka’s first medal at the tournament outside of athletics.
Sri Lanka faced India Women’s Kabaddi Team in the final. India led 20-18 at halftime and dominated the second half, scoring 27 points to Sri Lanka’s 13 to seal a 47-31 victory and claim gold.
Sri Lanka had to settle for silver after a strong campaign.
The team featured Dilakshana Vimalenthiren, Hansika Kumuduni, Kajenthini Rasa, Madurika Hansamali, Priyavarna Rasathurai, and Shanika Sudarshani.
