Batting first, the Sri Lankan Under-19 team were bowled out for just 58 runs, marking the lowest total ever recorded by Sri Lanka in Under-19 World Cup history.
Chamika Heenatigala was the top scorer for Sri Lanka with 14 runs, as the batting lineup struggled against the Australian bowling attack.
In reply, Australia chased down the modest target with ease, scoring 62 runs for the loss of just one wicket in 12 overs to secure a comprehensive victory.
Despite the setback, Sri Lanka will move on to the Super Six stage, where they are scheduled to face Afghanistan on Monday, looking to bounce back strongly in the tournament.
