The opening match of the 2026 Lanka Premier League will feature defending champions Jaffna taking on last season’s runners-up Galle.
The tournament opener is scheduled to be played on July 17 at the SSC Grounds in Colombo, with the match set to begin at 7:30 PM.
A grand opening ceremony is also expected to take place before the start of the game.
The tournament will run from July 17 to August 8 and matches will be played at SSC Colombo, R. Premadasa Stadium, Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
The tournament is being organized by Sri Lanka Cricket in partnership with IPG Group.
