India won the toss and batted first, posting an imposing 159/9 in their 20 overs.
Shafali Verma led the charge with a brilliant half-century, smashing 64 runs to anchor India’s innings.
For Thailand, Suleeporn Laomi was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets.
Chasing 160 for victory, Thailand struggled against India’s bowling attack and were bowled out for just 65 runs.
Nandani Sharma and Deepti Sharma took three wickets each for India, while Shree Charani chipped in with two wickets.
India therefore made a statement in their opening game, sealing a dominant 94-run victory to begin their Women’s Asia Cup campaign in style.
