Royal Challengers Bengaluru officially secured a place in the IPL 2026 playoffs after defeating Punjab Kings by 23 runs yesterday.
The match was played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, where Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first, RCB posted a massive 222/4 in their 20 overs. Virat Kohli continued his brilliant form with 58 runs, while Devdutt Padikkal added 45. Venkatesh Iyer played a stunning unbeaten knock of 73 to power Bengaluru to a huge total.
For Punjab Kings, Harpreet Brar claimed two wickets.
Chasing 223 for victory, Punjab Kings were restricted to 199/8 in their 20 overs. Shashank Singh top-scored with 56 runs, but the chase never truly gathered momentum.
RCB bowler Rasikh Salam starred with the ball, picking up three crucial wickets to help seal the victory.
With this win, Royal Challengers Bengaluru confirmed their place among the final four teams of the tournament.
