Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has extended its insurance scheme to cover 350 first-class players and support staff for the upcoming 2025/26 Major Club Season. A total of 280 players and 70 support staff representing 14 premier clubs will receive benefits under this program.
The coverage includes personal accident and medical insurance, while an additional critical illness cover will be provided to five players from each club. This marks the third consecutive year SLC has implemented the scheme, following the coverage of 550 players and staff in 2023 and 450 in 2024.
Introduced under the leadership of SLC President Shammi Silva, the initiative highlights the board’s ongoing commitment to protecting the welfare and security of domestic cricketers and their support teams.
