The second day of the second Test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh saw a dominant performance from the Sri Lankan bowlers in the morning session, followed by a strong start from their openers.

Bangladesh, who resumed on their overnight score of 220 for 8, were bowled out for 247. Taijul Islam added a valuable 33 runs, strengthening the lower order.

Sri Lanka’s bowling was spearheaded by newcomer Sonal Dinusha, who claimed 3 wickets on debut, along with Asitha Fernando, who also picked up 3 wickets to wrap up the innings efficiently.

In reply, Sri Lanka made a confident start to their first innings with openers Pathum Nissanka and Lahiru Udara negotiating the new ball effectively.

By lunch on Day 2, Sri Lanka had reached 83 without loss, with Nissanka on 42 not out and Udara unbeaten on 40. The home side will now look to build a substantial first-innings lead as they aim to take control of the match at the SSC Ground in Colombo.
