St. Thomas’ College Clinches 146th Battle of the Blues with 5-Wicket Victory

Historic win for Thomians after five years.

St. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, emerged victorious in the 146th Battle of the Blues, defeating Royal College, Colombo, by 5 wickets in the prestigious three-day encounter held at the SSC Grounds, Colombo.

This annual Royal-Thomian cricket encounter is the oldest school cricket match in Sri Lanka, dating back to 1880.

Match Summary

🏏 Royal College First Innings: 319/7 (Declared)
🏏 St. Thomas’ First Innings: 302 all out
🏏 Royal College Second Innings: 215/8 (Declared)
🏏 St. Thomas’ Second Innings: 233/5 (Victory)

Set a target of 233 runs, the Thomians successfully chased it down, losing just 5 wickets, securing their first Battle of the Blues win in five years.

This victory marks a significant milestone for St. Thomas’ College, reclaiming the prestigious title after a long wait.
