The MAS Athlete Training Academy, a key initiative of MAS Holdings, reaffirmed its support for Sri Lanka’s sporting talent at a sponsorship ceremony held at Sri Lanka Olympic House. The event provided sports gear and per diem sponsorships to promising athletes and coaches attending the Asian Under 18 Athletics Championships in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, in April 2025.

Mr. Ruwan Keragala, COO of MAS Intimates and Director of the MAS Athlete Training Academy, emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering athletic development in Sri Lanka. Mr. Suresh Subramaniam, President of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka, highlighted the importance of corporate support for nurturing future champions. Olympian Sriyani Kulawansa motivated the athletes, sharing her experiences and encouraging them to maximize the support received.

The sponsored athletes include Shavindu Awishka, Iresh Bogoda, Shanuka Nethmal, Dhananjana Sewmini, Tharushi Pemasiri, Sansala Senevirathna, Sachini Maduhansika, Dilki Nehara, and Rehan Perera, along with coaches Anuradha Nanayakkara and Buddika Nuwan.

In closing remarks, Mr. Isuru Gunaratne, Director of the MAS Athlete Training Academy, reaffirmed MAS Holdings’ dedication to developing Sri Lankan sports talent. This initiative aligns with the company’s vision of empowering local athletes and promoting a culture of sporting excellence in the country.
