On the second day of the 6th Asian Under-18 Athletics Championships held in Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka won two more medals.
In the women’s 100-meter event, Dhananjana Sewmini Fernando secured the silver medal by clocking a time of 11.92 seconds in the final yesterday.
Meanwhile, representing Sri Lanka, Lahiru Achintha claimed a bronze medal in the men’s 1500 meters event, finishing the race in 3 minutes and 59.47 seconds.
On the opening day of the tournament, Janith Lakshan had already won a silver medal for Sri Lanka in the men’s triple jump event.
The championship, featuring athletes from 31 countries, is scheduled to take place from April 15 to 18.
