The Sri Lankan women’s baseball team secured a remarkable victory against Iran in the qualifying match for the Asian Baseball Championship.
This win marks a historic milestone as it is the first international victory ever achieved by the Sri Lankan women’s baseball team.
The tournament is being held in Thailand, with the participation of eight countries. Sri Lanka competes in Group A, along with India, Pakistan, and Iran.
Sri Lanka triumphed over Iran yesterday with a convincing scoreline of 13–0.
This is also only the second time that a Sri Lankan women’s baseball team has taken part in an international tournament.
