Slovenia’s Tadej Pogačar has once again etched his name into cycling history, claiming his fifth Tour de France crown after sealing overall victory in the 2026 edition of the world’s most prestigious cycling race.
The 2026 Tour de France, which consisted of 21 stages, concluded on Sunday with the final 88.7-kilometre stage.
The concluding stage was won by Mathieu van der Poel of the Netherlands, who produced a strong finish to claim the stage honours.
However, it was Tadej Pogačar who emerged as the overall champion, completing the three-week race in a total time of 72 hours, 53 minutes and 22 seconds.
The triumph marks Pogačar’s fifth Tour de France title, having previously won the prestigious race in 2020, 2021, 2024, and 2025.
The latest victory further cements the Slovenian superstar’s legacy as one of the greatest cyclists of his generation.
