The Bangladeshi top order crumbled early, losing their first five wickets for just 53 runs by the 10th over.
A vital unbeaten partnership of 86 runs for the sixth wicket between Zakir Ali (41*) and Shamim Hossain (42*) lifted Bangladesh to a fighting total of 139/5.
Sri Lanka’s bowling was led by Wanindu Hasaranga (2 wickets), with Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara claiming one wicket each.
In reply, Sri Lanka chased down the target with ease, reaching 140/4 in the 15th over.
