Australia clinched a commanding 107-run victory against Pakistan in yesterday’s ICC Women’s World Cup One-Day clash held at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

Batting first, Australia posted 221 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. The innings was in deep trouble early, with the Aussies stumbling to 76 for 7. However, Beth Mooney produced a magnificent rescue act, anchoring the innings with a classy 109 runs, while Alana King provided crucial support with an unbeaten 51.

For Pakistan, Nashra Sandhu was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets, while Fatima Sana and Rameen Shamim took two wickets apiece.

Chasing a target of 222, Pakistan’s innings never found momentum, losing their first six wickets for just 49 runs. Sidra Ameen top-scored with 35 runs before falling as the seventh wicket. The rest of the batting lineup failed to offer any resistance, as Pakistan were bowled out for just 114 in 36 overs.

With this dominant performance, Australia reaffirmed their status as tournament favorites, securing another confident victory on Sri Lankan soil.
