Royal College Defeat S. Thomas’ by 16 Runs via DLS in 49th One-Day Encounter

Royal College Colombo recorded a 16-run victory (DLS method) over S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia in their 49th annual one-day cricket match, played today at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground.

Batting first, S. Thomas’ College put up a massive total of 313 for 4 in their allotted 50 overs. Jayden Amarawira delivered an outstanding innings, scoring a remarkable 184 runs.

In reply, Royal College were chasing strongly when bad light interrupted play. At the time the match was stopped, Royal had reached 291 for 6 in 46 overs.

Thanks to the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method, Royal College were declared winners by 16 runs.

During the chase, Vimath Dinsara played a superb innings, scoring 109 runs and leading Royal’s fightback.
