In the 5th match of the 2026 IPL, Delhi Capitals cruised to a comfortable 6-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants yesterday.

After winning the toss, DC skipper Axar Patel sent the Super Giants in to bat. Lucknow managed just 141 runs before being bowled out in 18.4 overs.

Captain Rishabh Pant fell early, and the wickets tumbled at regular intervals. Mitchell Marsh scored 35, while Abdul Samad contributed 36, but no other batsman could pass the 20-run mark.

On the bowling front, T. Natarajan and Lungi Ngidi picked up 3 wickets each, Kuldeep Yadav grabbed 2, and Axar Patel chipped in with 1.

Chasing 142, DC lost their first four wickets for just 26 runs during the powerplay. However, Samir Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs stitched a brilliant 119-run partnership for the 5th wicket, keeping the scoreboard ticking. With 17 balls to spare, Delhi Capitals secured the win comfortably.

In his debut IPL match, Lucknow’s Pathum Nissanka was unable to make an impact, scoring just 1 run. Prince Yadav took 2 wickets, while both Mohammed Shami and Mohsin Khan claimed 1 each.

Samir Rizvi was undoubtedly the hero of the match with a match-winning knock that powered DC’s chase.
