The Sri Lanka Women’s Under-19 Cricket Team delivered a commanding performance to defeat the England Women’s Under-19 Cricket Team by 52 runs in their Tri-Nation series clash in Brisbane.
Batting first, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 170 in 42.4 overs. Limansa Thilakaratne led the charge with a solid 51, while Shashini Gimhanie added a valuable 39 to anchor the innings.
In reply, England struggled against a disciplined Sri Lankan bowling attack and were dismissed for just 118 in 42.1 overs while chasing 171.
Skipper Chamudi Praboda and Aseni Thalagune starred with the ball, picking up three wickets each to seal an emphatic victory.
The tri-series also features the Australia Women’s Under-19 Cricket Team, making it a key tournament for emerging young talent.
