Peshawar Zalmi were crowned champions of the 2026 Pakistan Super League after securing a 5-wicket victory in the final played yesterday.
Batting first, Hyderabad Kingsmen were restricted to just 129 runs. Aaron Hardy delivered an outstanding bowling performance for Zalmi, claiming 4 wickets for 27 runs.
Saim Ayub was the only standout performer with the bat for Kingsmen, scoring 54 runs. Glenn Maxwell was dismissed on the very first ball, while Kusal Janith Perera was unfortunately run out for just 1 run.
In reply, Peshawar Zalmi got off to a shaky start, losing both openers, including Babar Azam, for just 7 runs. Kusal Mendis, who had been their most consistent performer throughout the tournament, managed only 9 runs in the final.
However, Aaron Hardy once again stepped up, playing a composed unbeaten knock of 56 to guide his team to victory. He was well supported by Abdul Samad, who scored 48 runs.
Mohammad Ali was the pick of the bowlers for Kingsmen with 3 wickets.
Peshawar Zalmi reached the target in the 16th over, sealing their second PSL title in style.
