Senior officials from the International Cricket Council are expected to visit Sri Lanka following the recent developments surrounding the administration of Sri Lanka Cricket, according to Indian media reports.
The visit comes after the Sri Lankan government appointed an interim committee to oversee the administration of Sri Lanka Cricket, a move that has sparked major discussion within the cricketing world.
Reports indicate that ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khwaja and a senior official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India will be part of the visiting delegation.
The main objective of the tour is said to be assessing the situation regarding government involvement in cricket administration and holding discussions with Sri Lankan authorities on the matter.
According to the reports, Imran Khwaja was expected to arrive in Sri Lanka last night (15), while the remaining members of the delegation, including the senior BCCI official, are expected to arrive today (16).
