Pakistan secured the ODI series against Australia with a convincing four-wicket victory in the third and final match played in Lahore, sealing the three-match series 2-1.
After winning the toss, Australian captain Josh Inglis opted to bat first on a pitch that heavily favored the bowlers. Pakistan’s attack made full use of the conditions, bowling Australia out for just 157 runs.
Captain Josh Inglis was the lone bright spot for the visitors, scoring 65 runs in an otherwise disappointing batting display.
With the ball, Shaheen Shah Afridi starred for Pakistan, claiming 3 wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan chipped in with two wickets each.
Chasing a modest target, Pakistan reached 161/6 in the 42nd over to secure the win and the series.
Babar Azam top-scored with 40 runs, while Shadab Khan remained unbeaten on 29 and Maaz Sadaqat contributed 27 runs.
For Australia, Matthew Kuhnemann picked up 3 wickets, while Nathan Ellis, Matthew Short, and Matt Renshaw claimed one wicket apiece.
Pakistan had won the opening ODI before Australia bounced back in the second match. The hosts, however, delivered when it mattered most to claim the series 2-1.
