Colombo Kaps registered a convincing six-wicket victory over Kandy Royals in the fifth match of the Lanka Premier League, completing a successful chase at the SSC Ground in Colombo.
Batting first, Kandy Royals posted a competitive 179 in their allotted 20 overs.
Lahiru Udara top-scored with 53, while Angelo Mathews added 43 and Moeen Ali contributed 41 to give Kandy a solid total.
With the ball, Binura Fernando starred for Colombo Kaps with an impressive four-wicket haul, while Hasan Mahmud provided excellent support by claiming three wickets.
In reply, Colombo Kaps chased down the target in 19.4 overs, finishing on 182/4 to seal a comfortable six-wicket win.
Janith Liyanage anchored the innings with an unbeaten 53, while James Neesham played a match-winning supporting role with an unbeaten 48, guiding Colombo Kaps across the finish line.
