Bangladesh clinched the three-match ODI series 2–1 after a commanding 179-run victory over the West Indies in the final match played yesterday.
Batting first, Bangladesh posted a strong 296 for 8, powered by a record-breaking 176-run opening stand between Soumya Sarkar and Saif Hassan — the second-highest opening partnership in Bangladesh’s ODI history.
Soumya Sarkar top-scored with 91 off 86 balls, while Saif Hassan contributed 80 off 72. For the West Indies, Akeal Hosein picked up 4 wickets, and Alick Athanaze grabbed 2.
In reply, the West Indies struggled from the start and were bundled out for just 117 runs in 31 overs.
Bangladesh’s spinners dominated — Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hossain took 3 wickets each, while Mehidy Hasan and Tanvir Islam chipped in with two apiece.
Soumya Sarkar was named Player of the Match, while Rishad Hossain took home the Player of the Series award for his all-round brilliance.
