Sri Lanka’s three-format player Dasun Shanaka has been called up to represent the Gujarat Titans in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
He has been signed as a replacement for Gujarat Titans player Glenn Phillips, who sustained an injury during the tournament.
According to reports, the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans have signed Shanaka for INR 7.5 million (equivalent to over 2.5 million Sri Lankan Rupees).
Shanaka also previously played for the Gujarat Titans during the 2023 season. Therefore, this marks his second time representing the franchise in the IPL.
Glenn Phillips suffered his injury during a match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the current IPL season.
