The annual big match between DS Senanayake College and Mahanama College ended in a draw yesterday at the SSC Grounds in Colombo.
Known as the “Battle of the Golds,” this year’s encounter marked the 20th edition of the historic rivalry.
Batting first, DS Senanayake College posted 344 runs in their first innings. Miyuru Bandara scored a magnificent century with 100 runs, while Chamika Heenatigala starred with the ball for Mahanama by claiming six wickets.
In reply, Mahanama College scored 387 runs in their first innings, gaining a valuable lead.
Dulnith Sigera played an outstanding innings of 186 runs and was well supported by Sineth Weeraratne, who added 91 runs.
DS Senanayake College were 54 runs into their second innings when the match ended without a result.
Dulnith Sigera was named Player of the Match for his match-winning knock of 186.
