The second ODI between India and the West Indies, played in Guwahati, ended with a host of new records as India secured a commanding eight-wicket victory.
After winning the toss, India opted to bowl first. The West Indies responded with a huge total of 405 for 7 from their allotted 50 overs.
John Campbell (101), captain Shai Hope (104) and Amir Jangoo (114) all scored centuries, making it the first time in West Indies ODI history that three batters had scored centuries in the same innings.
The total also became the West Indies’ highest ODI score against India.
Chasing a target of 406, India were led by a remarkable innings from captain Shubman Gill, who smashed an unbeaten 200 from just 117 balls, including 24 fours and seven sixes.
The double century was Gill’s second in ODI cricket, making him only the second batter in ODI history to score two double centuries.
Gill also reached his century from just 62 balls, setting a new record for the fastest ODI century by an Indian captain.
India eventually raced to 406 for 2 in just 43.3 overs, completing a spectacular eight-wicket victory and bringing an extraordinary, record-filled ODI to a close.
