Gujarat Titans secured a 3-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians in yesterday’s IPL match, decided under the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern (DLS) method.
Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted 155 runs for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of their 20 overs.
Due to intermittent rain, Gujarat’s innings was reduced to 19 overs. After the second rain interruption, Gujarat was set a target of 15 runs in a single over.
With only four batters allowed on the field due to slow over-rate penalties, Gujarat had lost 7 wickets at that point. The final over saw Rahul Tewatia and Gerald Coetzee at the crease.
They scored 14 runs in 5 balls, and despite a run-out chance on the final ball, no Mumbai player was near the stumps, allowing Gujarat to sneak a single and win the game.
Gujarat Titans won by 3 wickets. The Player of the Match was their captain, Shubman Gill.
