Sri Lanka T20 captain Dasun Shanaka has been handed a one-year ban from the Pakistan Super League by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The decision comes after Shanaka breached his contract with Lahore Qalandars, who had signed him for USD 27,000 during the PSL player draft.
Reports state that Shanaka opted to join the Indian Premier League instead, linking up with the Rajasthan Royals as a replacement for Sam Curran just before the tournament began.
Following the incident, Shanaka issued an apology to Pakistan cricket authorities and fans, expressing regret over the contract breach.
In addition to Shanaka, Blessing Muzarabani and Corbin Bosch have also been handed similar bans for violating PSL contracts and joining the IPL.
