Team India powered their way to a commanding 88-run victory over Pakistan in yesterday’s 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
After Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first, India posted 247 runs before being bowled out in the final over. Harleen Deol top-scored with 47, while Richa Ghosh remained unbeaten on 35 and Jemimah Rodrigues added 32 valuable runs.
For Pakistan, Diana Baig was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets, while Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana took 2 each.
In reply, Pakistan struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for 159 in 43 overs. Sidra Ameen fought a lone battle with a gritty 81, but found little support from the other end — Sidra Nawaz and Natalia Pervaiz offering only brief resistance.
India’s bowlers dominated the innings, with Kranti Gaud and Deepti Sharma sharing 3 wickets apiece, while Sneh Rana claimed 2.
With this performance, India sealed an emphatic win and continued their strong start in the tournament.
