India Women’s Team Secures 9-Wicket Win Over Sri Lanka in Tri-Nation ODI

Pratika Rawal's unbeaten fifty leads India to a comfortable victory

In the opening match of the Tri-Nation Women’s ODI Tournament between Sri Lanka, India, and South Africa, India defeated Sri Lanka by 9 wickets yesterday. The match was played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Due to bad weather, the match was reduced to 39 overs per side. Batting first, the Sri Lanka Women’s Team was bowled out for 147 runs.

For Sri Lanka, Hasini Perera scored 30 runs, Kavisha Dilhari made 25 runs, and Anushka Sanjeewani contributed 22 runs.

In bowling for India, Sneha Rana took 3 wickets, while Shreyanka Patil and Deepti Sharma picked up 2 wickets each.

Chasing the target, the India Women’s Team comfortably reached 149 for 1 in the 30th over.

Pratika Rawal remained unbeaten on 50 runs, Smriti Mandhana scored 43 runs, and Harleen Deol was unbeaten on 48 runs. For Sri Lanka, Inoka Ranaweera claimed the only wicket.

The Player of the Match award was given to Pratika Rawal.
