Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) clinched a narrow 12-run victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 16th match of IPL 2025, held yesterday.
After winning the toss, Mumbai Indians opted to field first. LSG posted a solid total of 203 runs for 8 wickets, powered by a brilliant 60 from Mitchell Marsh and 53 from Aiden Markram. Despite MI’s efforts, Hardik Pandya shone with the ball, claiming an impressive 5-wicket haul.
In response, MI managed to reach only 191 for 5 in their 20 overs, falling just short of the target. Suryakumar Yadav top-scored for Mumbai with 67 runs, but the LSG bowling unit held their nerve.
Shardul Thakur, Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, and Digvesh Rathi each chipped in with a wicket to seal the victory.
LSG’s win puts them in strong contention in the IPL 2025 points table, while MI will be looking to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.
