Mumbai Indians sealed their spot in the IPL 2025 playoffs with a commanding 59-run victory over Delhi Capitals in a match held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai yesterday.
Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted 180/5 in 20 overs, powered by an unbeaten 73 runs off 43 balls from Suryakumar Yadav, which included 7 fours and 4 sixes. Tilak Varma added 27 runs, while Mukesh Kumar claimed 2 wickets for Delhi, and Dushmantha Chameera took 1 wicket.
In reply, Delhi Capitals were bundled out for just 121 runs in 18.2 overs, with Sameer Rizvi top-scoring with 39 runs. Mitchell Santner and Jasprit Bumrah led the bowling attack for Mumbai, each grabbing 3 wickets.
With this victory, Mumbai Indians joined Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings in the list of teams qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
