The Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 encounter between England and Pakistan ended without a result yesterday in Colombo, as heavy rain forced the game to be abandoned midway.
Due to bad weather, the match was reduced to 31 overs per side. Batting first, England managed only 133 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Charlie Dean top-scored with 33 runs.
Pakistan’s bowlers dominated the innings — Fatima Sana impressed with a brilliant spell, taking 4 wickets for just 27 runs, while Sadia Iqbal chipped in with 2 wickets.
When rain intervened again, Pakistan had reached 34 runs without losing a wicket, seemingly in control. However, no further play was possible, and both sides had to settle for one point each.
The next fixture of the tournament will see Australia face Bangladesh today in Visakhapatnam.
