Sri Lanka secured their 11th consecutive One Day International (ODI) victory over Bangladesh at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
In the first ODI between the two teams, Sri Lanka won by 77 runs.
Batting first, the Sri Lankan team were bowled out for 244 runs in 49.2 overs.
Captain Charith Asalanka led from the front with an excellent innings, scoring 106 runs—his fifth ODI century. Kusal Mendis contributed 45 runs.
Bangladesh were set a target of 245 runs to win.
By the end of 16.3 overs, they had reached 100 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.
However, within the next 5 runs, Bangladesh lost 6 more wickets in quick succession.
Accordingly, 8 wickets fell with the score on just 105 runs.
Bangladesh were eventually bowled out for 167 runs in 35.5 overs.
Wanindu Hasaranga delivered an outstanding bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for just 10 runs.
Remarkably, he also reached the milestone of 100 career ODI wickets.
Kamindu Mendis took 3 wickets as well.
