Liverpool football team’s forward, 28-year-old Diogo Jota da Silva, has reportedly died in a motor accident.
The incident is said to have occurred early this morning in the Zamora region of Spain.
His brother, Portuguese forward André da Silva, aged 26, has also reportedly died in the accident.
It has been stated that their Lamborghini vehicle veered off the road and caught fire after a tire burst while overtaking another vehicle.
Diogo had married Ruth Cardoso on June 22. According to foreign media reports, the official video of their wedding was shared on social media just a few hours before the accident.
Diogo Jota was a key player who contributed greatly to Liverpool’s recent Premier League title victory.
Foreign media state that he was a distinguished footballer who had played nearly 50 international matches.
