Rasara Wijesooriya has set a new Sri Lankan record in the women’s 10,000-meter event. The achievement came during the World University Games currently being held in Germany.
A total of 28 athletes competed in the event. Rasara completed the race in a time of 32 minutes and 52.20 seconds, establishing a new national record.
This record surpasses her own previous record of 33 minutes and 21.62 seconds. She finished 8th in the race.
