Singapore emerged victorious in the Asian Netball Championship final, defeating Sri Lanka by three points in a closely contested match.
Both teams showcased excellent skills from the outset. The first quarter ended with Singapore leading 17-12. By halftime, Singapore maintained their lead at 28-27. However, Sri Lanka gained momentum in the third quarter, finishing ahead 42-39.
The match concluded regular time with a tie at 52-52, forcing the game into extra time. The first phase of extra time also ended in a tie, with both teams scoring 59 points each. Ultimately, Singapore secured the win with a final score of 67-64.
This victory marks Singapore’s fourth Asian Netball Championship title and their first since 2014. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka finished as runners-up for the fourth time in the tournament’s history.
