Sri Lanka Army athletes who excelled at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championships held in Ranchi, India, from October 24 to 26, 2025, were felicitated by Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo at the Army Headquarters on October 30, 2025.
A total of 59 Sri Lankan athletes represented the nation at the event, with 30 of them proudly representing the Sri Lanka Army. Their outstanding performances earned the country 27 medals, including 12 gold, 8 silver, and 7 bronze — a remarkable contribution to Sri Lanka’s overall success.
In recognition of their exceptional achievements, the Army Commander extended his congratulations and blessings to all the medal-winning athletes. He also announced a special financial grant exceeding six million rupees to further support their athletic development.
Additionally, 18 medal-winning Army athletes were promoted to their next rank as a token of appreciation for bringing pride and honor to the nation and the Army through sports.
