Sri Lanka continued its golden run at the South Asian Senior Athletics Championships, securing two more gold medals in impressive fashion.
In the men’s javelin throw, Rumesha Tharanga claimed the gold medal with a remarkable throw of 84.29 meters, while compatriot Sumedha Ranasinghe earned the silver medal with a best effort of 81.62 meters, giving Sri Lanka a 1–2 finish in the event.
Meanwhile, in the women’s 400m hurdles, Sri Lanka once again dominated the track as Dasuni Arachchi powered to gold with a time of 58.66 seconds. Araliya Geeganage followed close behind to secure the silver medal, completing yet another gold-silver double for the island nation.
With these victories, Sri Lanka continues to shine on the regional stage, showcasing depth and excellence in both field and track events.
