Germany’s Julian Weber has returned to the top of the latest world rankings in men’s javelin throw, leading the standings with 1,364 points.
Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga is ranked second with 1,354 points, while Grenada’s Anderson Peters occupies third place.
The rankings are updated based on athletes’ performances at international competitions, with several major meets scheduled over the coming weeks.
Tharanga is currently overseas as he prepares to compete at three Diamond League meetings and another major international event. His first Diamond League appearance is set for tomorrow in Lausanne, Switzerland.
With just 10 points separating Tharanga from the world No. 1 spot, his upcoming international campaign could prove crucial in the battle for the top ranking.
