CR & FC ended a 26-year wait by clinching the Inter-Club League Rugby Championship with a victory over Kandy SC in a thrilling match held yesterday at the CR Grounds in Colombo.
Despite Kandy SC dominating the first half with a 13-6 lead, CR & FC delivered a stellar performance in the second half, scoring 27 points. Kandy SC managed to add only 12 points in the second half.
The match concluded with a 33-25 victory for CR & FC, marking their first league championship win since 1998. The winning team scored through one converted try, four unconverted tries, and two penalties.
CR & FC achieved this remarkable milestone as an undefeated team, showcasing exceptional performance throughout the tournament.
