Colombo SSC team clinched the championship title of the Inter-Club One-Day Cricket Tournament B Division by defeating Moratuwa Sports Club in the final match. The final was held yesterday at the Colombo SSC Grounds.
Batting first, the Moratuwa team was bowled out for 231 runs in 49.5 overs. Purna Prabath top-scored with 92 runs. In bowling, Prabath Jayasuriya delivered a standout performance, claiming 4 wickets for just 15 runs.
In reply, Colombo SSC successfully chased the target, scoring 236 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 40.4 overs. Nipun Dhananjaya remained unbeaten on 73 runs and was named Player of the Match.
Sahan Kaushalya of Moratuwa Sports Club won the award for Best Bowler of the tournament, while Hiran Sigeera of Leo Cricket Club was named Best Batsman. The Player of the Tournament award was secured by Krishan Sanjula of Colombo SSC.
