The Sri Lankan cricket team has expressed its willingness to play the remaining matches of the ongoing Pakistan tour, following assurances of safety from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and local authorities.
A suicide bombing in Islamabad just before the first ODI had raised serious concerns about the security of Sri Lankan players. However, after detailed discussions between Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), the PCB, and Pakistan’s security officials, the Sri Lankan team has decided to continue the tour as planned.
Accordingly, Sri Lanka will take part in the two remaining ODIs against Pakistan and the upcoming T20 tri-nation series.
