New Zealand Lead by 96 Runs at Stumps on Day Two

The first Test of the three-match series between New Zealand and the West Indies—played as part of the World Test Championship—is currently underway in Christchurch, New Zealand. At the end of Day Two, New Zealand hold a 96-run lead.

Winning the toss, the West Indies invited New Zealand to bat first. New Zealand posted 231 runs in their first innings.

Kane Williamson scored 52, while Michael Bracewell contributed 47.

For the West Indies, Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, Ojay Shields, and Justin Greaves claimed 2 wickets each.

The West Indies were then bowled out for 167, with Tagenarine Chanderpaul scoring 52 and Shai Hope adding 56.

New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy starred with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 34, while Matt Henry picked up 3 wickets.

With a 64-run lead, New Zealand began their second innings and reached 32/0 by stumps on Day Two.

Tom Latham is on 14, while Devon Conway is on 15, both unbeaten.
