India registered a commanding seven-wicket victory over touring New Zealand in the second T20 International of the five-match series, played in India yesterday, to take an unassailable 2–0 lead in the series.

After winning the toss, India opted to field first. Batting first, New Zealand posted a competitive total of 208 for 6. Mitchell Santner remained unbeaten on 47, while Rachin Ravindra contributed 44 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the Indian bowlers with two wickets, while Hardik Pandya, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, and Shivam Dube claimed one wicket each.

Chasing a challenging target of 209, the Indian batters produced a breathtaking run chase, reaching the target in just 15.2 overs with only three wickets down.

Suryakumar Yadav starred with an unbeaten 82 off 37 deliveries, while Ishan Kishan smashed a rapid 76 off 32 balls to power India to victory.

For New Zealand, Matt Henry, Ish Sodhi, and Jacob Duffy picked up one wicket apiece.

With this seven-wicket win, India clinched the T20I series 2–0 with one match still remaining. Ishan Kishan was named Player of the Match for his match-winning knock.

The third T20 International between the two sides is scheduled to be played tomorrow.
